Holder and insert system

Most of the Scafftag unique Status Tagging Systems have two components – a holder which attaches permanently to the equipment and replaceable inserts.

This ensures you have a permanent data trail of inspections and work carried out, as well as evidence in a court of law if you need it.

The Scafftag Status Tagging System is so simple to implement, easy for workers to understand, and highly visible for all to see. Just follow the three steps below to help keep your site and equipment safe:

· Step 1. The empty holder clearly displays the message “Do not use”.

· Step 2. When equipment is inspected, the appropriate insert is filled in and then placed in its holder. This is then visible for all workers to see.

· Step 3. If the equipment is not to be used, then simply remove the insert to clearly display the message “Do Not Use”.

The European Brady range consists of 9 different status tagging systems from Scafftag, each one can be used in different applications and markets. The products are available in English, German, French and Dutch

· Key characteristics of the products

The products in the Brady range are:

Scafftag ®: Range of holders and inserts designed to clearly display the status of scaffolds. After inspection the system can show whether it has been deemed safe at time of inspection of whether it is unsafe and therefore should not be used. There is also a range of colour coded Scafftag inserts to be used on scaffolds with different loadings. These enable to user to clearly identify the type of scaffold and the status of it. The drawings on the inserts facilitates the usage in multilingual teams

Laddertag ® Holder and insert system which help meet requirements of ladder safety legislation. Helps users to check for damage, faults, and wear and tear to ladders and record inspections accordingly, so as to prevent accidents and injury caused through faulty ladders. The reverse side contains information on how to use ladders safely

Multitag ® Similar principle to Laddertag, but can be used to record inspections on almost any industrial plant machinery or equipment.

Microtag ®: One of the smallest tagging systems in the range consisting of holders and inserts to be used on any electrical equipment used for testing. This is particularly useful for identifying small plant, equipment and lifting gear. Inserts are available in three different colours (red, yellow & green) with text: Next inspection date.

Forkliftag ®: This is a preventative safety management system comprising of a holder and insert system. The holder is attached to the forklift truck and the inspection procedures should be carried out by the first authorised user of the truck who signs and dates the appropriate section on the insert. The reverse side contains a forklift safety checklist

Unitag ® It is designed for the identification and qualification of lifting equipment, industrial plant, valves and calibration equipment, as well as a variety of other applications. The holder has a unique, permanent locking system which enables it to be fixed to all equipment. Optional standard inserts are available in a variety of colours. Supplied with a 150mm metal strop.

Chemtag ®: This system helps to identify and control hazardous substances by clearly showing information on the risks and dangers of stored chemicals. Includes information on PPE, Fire extinguishers and risks to human health. If an accident occurs, the insert could be shown to medics to clearly give information on the chemical such as risks to human health

Isotag ® Status tagging system to be used in lockout tagout procedures. This is a tag only system. It comprises of a two part, perforated tag. One part is attached to the isolation, the other with the permit to work documentation. It is only when the two parts are married up that the isolation can be considered complete and safe to re-energise. By using the perforation on the tag, each section can easily be removed without the need for either scissors or knives which may require additional permits.

Flange tag ® Similar to Isotag, but a three part tag system most commonly used on pipeline maintenance. The top part shows that the flange has been broken, the second part that it is being re-assembled, and the third part is used when it is ready for final testing. By using the perforation on the tag, each section can easily be removed without the need for either scissors or knives which may require additional permits. This product is only available in English

Permit Wallets: There are also clear plastic permit wallets available which any of the Scafftag tagging systems or other documents  can be placed inside to give enhanced protection from harsh environments.

· Packaging

For most of the systems, there are starter kits that contain a holders and inserts. The inserts are available in packs of 10 or 50.

The kits are packed in boxes, the inserts in plastic bags.
